LOVE LIKE JESUS

There are many crises happening across the world at this moment. The COVID-19 surge we are facing is taking away our loved ones and causing a trivial divide in our nation and more tragically, our church. Our prayers go out to those whose homes and lives have been devastated by Hurricane Ida. Lives lost, homes destroyed, and churches irreparably damaged. In Afghanistan, with the rise of the Taliban, we are hearing reports of extreme violence and severe persecution of the church.

The world's response often is to wring their hands, debate on social media, and assign blame for all the tragedies we face.

As the body of Christ, we endeavor to be a people that 𝗣𝗥𝗔𝗬 for those in need, but also to be the kind of people that 𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 by lending timely, meaningful aid to those who are suffering. The Bible says that we need to be a light that shines in the darkness. We need to overcome the evil in this world through good. It is time to act upon the debt of love we have through what Christ did for us. I ask that if you are reading this that you partner with us in sending relief to two major needs the Lord has placed on our hearts to help through His strength. The first is Hurricane Ida Relief and the second is to send aid to the underground persecuted church in Afghanistan. We will be taking up an offering for these causes in our church and online. If you would like to give, please go to www.churchhonolulu.com/give and 100% of all the donations will go directly to those in need.

Together, we can be the light to the world. You can make a difference.

God Bless You, Pastor Evan Palmer

James 2:16-17 NKJV If one of you says to them, "Depart in peace, be warmed and filled," but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what [does it] profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
